Buttim Junction opened to vehicle traffic: Buttim Junction, which provides the connection of Bursa city center to Istanbul and has the busiest traffic, was opened to vehicle traffic.
Bursa Governor Münir Karaloğlu, who opened Buttim Köprülü Intersection to vehicle traffic, stated that one of the most important exits of Bursa is the Istanbul road, and the lights on this road constantly block the flow of traffic. Stating that the work was done by the Highways Regional Directorate and Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Karaloğlu said:
”Our Metropolitan Municipality prepared the project, our expropriations and infrastructure were made by our Metropolitan Municipality. Now, our Metropolitan Municipality is doing landscape works. Our Regional Directorate of Highways also tender technical and construction works. He completed the intersection by spending approximately 10 million TL, but paving works, plating and landscaping works will continue. We will make the official opening at the end of June. Today we are only open to traffic. I congratulate our Metropolitan Municipality and our Regional Directorate of Highways for this good public and local cooperation. These services need the city. Joint projects will continue on the Istanbul road and Izmir road. Blocked points in traffic will be opened one by one. Good luck to our city and our people. ”
Reminding that another node in transportation will be unraveled, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Recep Altepe said, “We continue our efforts for the solution of traffic in the center to make Bursa an accessible city. When these works are completed, we will also install the rail system. ”
After the speeches, the junction was opened to vehicle traffic. The junction consisting of 14 bridges, approximately 66 meters long, built by the 2th Regional Directorate of Highways, will make the traffic fluent, while the landscaping will be done by the Metropolitan Municipality.
