Ümraniye metro will be opened in 2016: Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Kadir Topbaş said that Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe Metro line will open in 2016.

Expressing that they are trying to fulfill the transportation systems, especially the metro, which was neglected in the past, by separating the majority of the municipal resources, Topbaş stated that they started these studies with the slogan of "Subway everywhere, metro everywhere". Stating that there are currently 9 stations in Ümraniye, Topbaş stated that they have created a system that is integrated with each other, not with a single line.

“Today, we are here at Yamanevler Station, which is an important point of Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe Metro line. Meanwhile, we enter the rail welding. Hopefully this line will be used within 1 year. We have calculated that 700 thousand people will prefer this road. We will extend this line to Taşdelen until 2019. We thought of the opportunity to go to Sultanbeyli and Sabiha Gökçen and to Sancaktepe, Yenidogan through this line. There are these in this system. The exit of the 3-storey tunnel announced by our Prime Minister will be in Ümraniye. Vehicles can arrive here in 12-13 minutes. ”

Speaking that the fastest developing system in the world is the metro line, Topbaş said that the system can operate on its own without the driver and the mechanic. Topbaş said, “This is an advanced technology. This is done only in a few cities in the world. One of them is Istanbul. I would like to say that there is a system to be modeled in the world. ”
