The decision to continue the railway strike in Germany

The decision to continue the railway strike in Germany: The Train Machinery Union (GDL) decided to continue the strike despite the statements of Deutsche Bahn President Rüdiger Grube.

Rüdiger Grube, President of the German Railways Administration (Deutsche Bahn), announced that he had a "new proposal for reconciliation" and warned that the situation could not continue in this way.

The strike, which includes freight and passenger transport, is scheduled to continue until Sunday. On average, only one out of every three passenger trains is running because of the strike.

Many people prefer road transport, which in many places caused traffic congestion and disruptions in transportation.

Deutsche Bahn offered a 4,7 percent increase in wages in the new round of collective bargaining negotiations. The hike, which is expected to take effect in two levels, did not satisfy GDL, and the union announced that "long-term new quit actions will be organized."

GDL had gone on strike seven times before that during the 10 dispute that had lasted for nearly a month. The union, which started a strike that would last 100 hours in November, ended the strike after 60 hours.
