Breaking Rope on Bay Bridge dismantled by Japanese Team

The Bay Bridge was dismantled by the Japanese team: the rope was suspended on the Izmit Bay Crossing Bridge, and the ropes hanging out to the sea were dismantled by special teams brought from Japan for the risky operation.
Following the rupture of one of the catwalk (cat) ropes on the Izmit Bay Crossing Bridge, the ropes hanging in front of the Dilovası pillar were dismantled by special teams brought from Japan by the construction company. All cat assemblies on both lines were removed, new line shooting was started.
The Bay Transitional Bridge was dismantled and the cat way disrupted. The dismantling process of the cat path, which caused the engineer of the Japanese company to commit suicide by holding himself responsible for the breakage, was completed. The falling parts of the cat path that was removed from the bridge's feet were removed from the sea by a floating crane. During the removal process, ship passages were continued in a controlled manner. During the passage of the ships, the guide ships belonging to the company that built the bridge and the ships that were connected to the Kocaeli Port Authority were helped to pass the ships.
While the work on the Bay Bridge, which is the most important crossing point of the Gebze-Orhangazi-İzmir highway project, which will reduce the Istanbul-Izmir highway journey to approximately 3,5 hours, was normal. On top of that, the catwalk (cat) installation was started. However, the last 8 in March, one of these ropes west west of the link on the network in the nose of the connection to the Gulf of Izmit as a result of the rupture fell.
During the event, the lack of employees on the line prevented a possible catastrophe, the entrance of the Gulf of Izmit was stopped for a few days. After this incident, the Japanese Chief Engineer Kishi Ryoichi said he held himself responsible for the accident committed suicide by leaving a letter.
After this event, which caused a great shock, examinations were carried out at the connection points on bridge feet for more than a month. For a long time, the line of Dilburnu dangling from the connection point to the sea and the cat with the assembly of the line could not be removed. Because it was risky and very dangerous, the contractor Japanese company brought a special team from Japan and safely lowered them. The connections between the two legs were assembled by installing new ones built abroad. The cables between the two lines have also been restarted.
Earlier statements made it clear that in June, the decks will be laid on foot and can be reached by foot on the Gulf Bridge, due to this event the program is expected to delay several months. It is not known whether the bridge will be opened to vehicle traffic at the end of the year.
