Kadir Topbaş, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, made a surprise statement in the groundbreaking ceremony of Eyüp Municipality's walking track in Göktürk. Topbas gave the good news of a new tram line which will ease transportation in Istanbul, Fatih, Eyüp and Bayrampaşa districts. Explaining the project for the first time, Topbas said, N We made preparations for an 12 kilometer tramway going to Alibeyköy Cep Bus Station through the Fatih and Eyüp coasts starting from Eminönü. We're thinking of a bike path. There will be a tram going from Eyüp to Bayrampaşa. That tram line will also be integrated. We will demonstrate the possibility to travel on the Golden Horn coast by tram iç. Eminönü-Alibeyköy tram line, which was given by President Topbaş, will consist of 18 station and will reduce the travel time to 30 minutes. The new tram line will be connected to Eyup Square from Demirkapi and Bayrampasa via a separate line. With the establishment of the 11.5 kilometer second rail system between Bahçelievler-Bağcılar-Esenler, the Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey Metro, which is being constructed by Aksaray-Airport metro, will be integrated. The line will be connected by metro and metrobus in Yenibosna, by metro in Bağcılar, and by subway in Tekstilkent.
