9 students studying at Hitit University Osmancık Ömer Derindere Vocational School produced a 20-person tram that is charged with solar energy and can also be controlled by smart phones.

Ömer Derindere Vocational School Head of Electronics and Automation Department Asst. Assoc. Dr. “Hititray”, produced by a group of 9 students led by Bilgehan Tozlu in about 8 months, was introduced in the school garden.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rector of Hitit University. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan, Asst. Assoc. Dr. Dusty and congratulated the students and wished the study was an example.

Expressing that Hitit University is growing and growing day by day, Alkan said, “Your work showed a good example of university-industry cooperation and proved to everyone what can be achieved in unity and solidarity when desired.”

Rector Alkan later, Asst. Assoc. Dr. Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Tozlu presented the certificates of appreciation to the industrial tradesmen who contributed to the production of the tram.

District Governor Sezgin Third, who attended the ceremony, Mayor Hamza Karataş and Rector Alkan, and those accompanying them, took a ride on the "Hititray" and walked on the rails placed in the garden for a while.

Stating that the tram they call “Hititray” has a capacity of 20 people and can be controlled by an application installed on smart phones, Tozlu said:

“We are doing projects as part of a lesson. This semester we wanted to do a project with our students. We realized a tram project because we think the rail system is beneficial for our country. Then the 'Hititray' project appeared. It is the product of a two-term study. It took about 8 months. We did it with 9 students. It has a capacity of 20 people. Now our tram is on the battery because it is a 'prototype'. There is no fixed energy source. However, the batteries are charged with the energy supplied from the solar panel on the tram. Thus, it is possible to use it for free. ”

Project, they realized for young people voicing their trust Dusty, "Turkey Let's build a brighter and more successful so we hit the road. Thank goodness we have also been successful. Some of our students did not even know how to hold a screwdriver when starting the project, but at the end of the project, they proceeded from the electrical source to the gas supply, painting and laying the electrical panel ”.

Burhan Paydar, 2nd year student of Electronic Technology Department, one of the students in the “Hititray” project, also explained that it is easy to reach the target in unity and solidarity.

Stating that their beliefs that they can reach the results in the first moments they started the project was not strong, Paydar said, “(We could not do this) but we succeeded thanks to our teacher. We learned to be unity, we learned to transfer theoretical knowledge to practical knowledge. We learned university-industry cooperation. Today, we are experiencing the rightful pride of our labor. ”
