6 of the logistics centers were opened, and 5 of them are under construction: 6 of the logistics centers, which are expected to make significant contributions to exports, became operational. Construction continues in 5 centers and planning in 8. Turkey in particular is expected to bring big opportunities in export logistics centers opening in succession. 19 of the 5 centers were opened. The 6th Hasanbey Logistics Center (in Eskişehir) was opened on 19 March.

Significant distances have been taken in the project under the control of TCDD. According to the current information provided by the institution, the construction works of the logistics centers of Balıkesir (Gökköy), Bilecik (Bozüyük), Mardin, Erzurum (Palandöken) and Mersin (Yenice) are continuing outside of 6 open centers. In other words, 5 centers will be opened soon. Thus, more than half of this giant project will be completed.

Logistics centers, which are considered as the heart of modern freight transportation and which develops combined transportation integrated with other transportation systems, are located in the city center. As was the case in European countries, it was started with the aim of establishing in a location with high potential of close to the Organized Industrial Zones, in line with modern, technological and economic developments, capable of responding to freight logistics needs, in an area that has effective road and sea transportation connection and can be preferred by the loaders. .

Initially planned 12 center and Istanbul (Halkalı/ Yeşilbayır), İzmit (Köseköy), Samsun (Gelemen), Eskişehir (Hasanbey), Kayseri (Boğazköprü), Balıkesir (- Gökköy), Mersin (Yenice), Uşak, Erzurum (Palandöken), Konya (Kayacık), Denizli (Kaklik ) and it was planned to be established in Bilecik (Bozüyük). Later, the number of Logistics Centers reached 19 with Kahramanmaraş (Türkoğlu), Mardin, Kars, Sivas, Bitlis (Tatvan) and Habur Logistics Centers. Of these, Samsun (Gelemen), Uşak, Denizli (Kaklik), Izmit (Köseköy), Eskişehir (Hasanbey) and Halkalı 6 Logistics Center was opened to operation.

5 construction continues in the center

Construction works of Balıkesir (Gökköy), Bilecik (Bozüyük), Mardin, Erzurum (Palandöken) and Mersin (Yenice) logistics centers are ongoing. According to the information received from TCDD, project, expropriation and construction tender processes for other Logistics centers are also ongoing.

When all the logistics centers planned according to the analysis of TCDD come into service, the commercial value of the cargo handled there will be $ 40 billion per year. That means 25 percent of Turkey's exports. In these centers, 26 million tons of additional transportation, 8 million square meters of container stock and handling area, 9 thousand people will be employed. The initial project amount of logistics center investments was planned as 550 million liras. Until the end of 2013, 191 million pounds were spent. The estimated investment amount for 2014 is planned as 70 million liras. However, all are expected to exceed the planned figure.

Earned 100 million investment in Eskişehir

Hasanbey Logistics Center has become one of the last logistics centers, the construction of which has been completed. Thus, freight transport in Eskişehir is expected to go out of the city. Eskişehir Train Station also integrates with the city. Tiles, iron, ceramics, bricks, construction materials, feldspar, refrigerator, container, magnesite, foodstuff, water, coal, paper, chipboard and plastic materials will be transported from Eskişehir Logistics Center. Hasanbey will provide the logistics sector with an additional carrying capacity of 1.4 million tons, logistics area of ​​541 thousand square meters and employment for 500 people.
