Support for Kars Tourism with a White Wagon: Kazım Karabekir Pasha's “White Wagon” in Kars was taken to the tourism destination in order to increase the tourism potential of the region and especially to help Russian tourists visit the region more.

After the Kars Agreement signed with Russia on October 13, 1921, the 15-meter-long “White Wagon”, which was presented to the 13th Corps Commander of the period, Kazım Karabekir Pasha and exhibited in the garden of the Kars Museum in the historical Station District, 12 thousand local and foreign tourists visited.
On the exterior of the wagon, which has a lounge, a dining room, a heating room and a bathroom, the inscription reads: "This white wagon was presented to the Kazım Karabekir Pasha by the Red Army" in the alphabet of Ottoman, Russian and Cyrillic.
Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, which aims to visit the wagon by more tourists, is working.
Kars Culture and Tourism Manager Hakan Doğanay told the AA reporter that Kars is a brand city that stands out with its historical monuments.

Stating that they have evaluated all objects bearing the traces of history in Kars, Doğanay stated that “White Wagon” will find more places in tourism destinations from now on.

Doğanay emphasized that the “White Wagon” carries the traces of Turkish and Russian history and that it is of great importance especially for Russian tourists to visit the region more.
“When the Commander of the Eastern Front Kazım Karabekir Pasha went to sign the Gyumri Treaty on December 3, 1920, he brought white horses as a gift to the Russian generals. The Russian delegation, who was very pleased with this, later came to Kars on October 13, 1921, when they came to Kars to make a gesture in return for the white horses, which they had built in Moscow specifically for working office and sightseeing. He gave it to Kazım Karabekir Pasha. ”
Explaining that Kazım Karabekir Pasha, the Commander of the 15th Corps and the Eastern Front in the Kars region, made business and travel trips between Kars and Erzurum between 1921 and 1923, Doğanay said that Kazım Karabekir Pasha used the car frequently.
- “This wagon was like the house of the pasha”
Doğanay stated that Karabekir Pasha made historical decisions on this wagon during travels in order to save time and said:
“In fact, this wagon was like the house of the pasha. Those who saw this white wagon attached to the black train understood that Kazım Karabekir Pasha was traveling. It is known that Pasha took the historical lands in this wagon with his delegation by saving time. After the wagon was appointed to Kazım Karabekir Pasha, Istanbul 1923st Army Inspector in 1, he was left at Kars Sarıkamış Train Station. Later, it was brought to the garden of the Kars Museum and protected as of 1981. After a while, various restorations were made in it, and the passages, documents, photos on the Kars Sarıkamış trip were framed and hung in the car. As a witness of history, it was presented here to the visitors. Our aim is to evaluate this historical wagon more in tourism destinations and to visit more tourists. ”
Stating that the historical stone places known as the Bloody Bastion in Kars will be turned into a War History Museum that tells about the Eastern Front, Doğanay added that the White Wagon will take its place in the garden of this museum and added, “Our goal is to include this museum in tourism destinations in 2016. Kars deserves this because it opens up to the service of tourists and increases its tourism potential. The tourist who comes to Kars is a conscious tourist. Kars is not a coincidence city. "It is a city that has an identity and is declared as a brand city among 15 cities."
