The ski season has ended in Karacadağ Ski Center, which is the only ski center in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. Karacadağ Ski Center, with an altitude of 45, which is 1919 kilometers from the town center of Siverek and popularly referred to as the "Uludağı of the Southeast", served ski-lovers for about two months this year.
Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Mardin, Batman and Adıyaman, such as the surrounding cities and districts, visitors from the day, as well as slippage in the facility on the snow was a barbecue. The plant, which is one of the most important winter tourism centers of the region, is growing every year.
The operator of the center, Orhan Atilla, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the snow on the runways melted due to the increase in air temperature. Stating that they completed the season without any problems, Atilla stated that the period could be extended if the facility is improved a little more.
Atilla told that the runway is home to both beginner skiers and professionals, and at times the capacity of the facility is insufficient.
Emphasizing that the facility needs to be improved, Atilla said: “We left behind one of the best seasons of the last 5 years. We hosted approximately 20 thousand visitors in two months. With each passing year, the interest in our facility increased, and it started to have difficulties in providing adequate service with its current capacity. It is necessary to take steps to extend the runway by making better use of the areas in the region and to ensure that visitors have a better time. Especially for those who come from far places, there is a need for a place where accommodation can be made. We estimate that the potential of the center will increase 2-3 times with the improvement to be made in the facility.
