SRO-Mecca Single Line
The Saudi Railways Organization (SRO) plans to establish a single-line system, also known as the Al Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro Project ass, which is similar to the Dubai Metro in the UAE.
This system is three in Arafat, three in Muzdalifah, one in the middle of Mina, one in the middle, one in Jamarat's 4. The last one will include nine stations that provide connection to Makkah, Mina, Muzdalifah and Arafat from the sacred areas, and will be capable of carrying 90.000 passengers per hour.
The project will be carried out at the 3 stage: 1. the construction of the bridge carrying two roads in a row; 2. to the main station in Arafat next to Mecca Taif Road; The third step is to create all the lines necessary to connect with all stations.

SRO-Haramain High Speed Network (HHR): Phase 1: 1 & 2. Package
SRO has started the project by taking into consideration the increasing number of people traveling between 3 and the city. About 2,5 million pilgrims visit the holy cities during the Hajj period. In addition, 2 million people come to Umrah annually in the month of Ramadan.
In order to alleviate the traffic between Mecca and Medina, especially during the hajj season, the government plans to establish a high-speed train between the two sacred cities.
The HHR is specifically designed to provide fast, comfortable, reliable access to a high-powered electric passenger line. The general purpose of the government is to complete the HHR project as a publicly funded project.
The itinerary will include 444 station, which will be 7 km long. The first one will be next to the big mosque in Mecca, and the second will be made out of the city. Both stations will be located in Jeddah, one airport, another city center, one in Rabigh and one in Medina. It will even process about 100 train per day.
The journey will take 72 minutes on the 30 km long Jeddah-Mecca line, while the 372 km Jeddah-Medina line will take 2 hours. The previous name of the project in question was the Mecca-Medina Line.

SRO-Riyadh Dammam Double Track Railway
SRO initiates the construction of double rail lines for passenger transportation between Riyadh and Dammam. It is aimed that the double rail system will bring a speed train to the end of 2011. Trains run at 200 km per hour are expected to reduce the time between Dammam and Riyadh to less than 3 hours.
SRO is building 28 bridges over the Riyadh Dammam railway to remove the level crossing which has caused some accidents before.

Al Ahsa Railway Line
In Al Ahsa, south of the east of Saudi Arabia, SRO forms two railway lines.
The project will consist of two lines, one of which will be used for passenger and the other for transportation.
The passenger line will travel to Khrees, and the cargo line to the Khoraj District. The length of the two lines on the wheel will be 105 km.

Medina Municipality Medina Single Line
In order to reduce traffic congestion, to find alternative and safer access roads, the Municipality of Medina plans to bring a single-line system to the city. The first phase of the aforementioned project is from UHD to construct a double-sided road construction of 10 km to Quba over Haram and to carry 10.000 passenger capacity per hour in each direction.

Rayadah Investment Company – Riyadh King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD): Tekline Railway System
Rayadah Investment Company plans to build 1,6 million sqm KAFD to the south of Riyadh.
The Saudi stock exchange (Tadwul), the Capital Center (CMA) and the commodity market will be located in the region. The project also includes a financial high school with 5.000 student capacity, offices, buildings, hotels, shops, recreation facilities, waterways, squares, parks, sports grounds, restaurants and 6 mosque, including the Great Mosque.
The project is divided into 3 sections: Leaf, Northwest region and Southern Region. The Leaf region is divided into 5 sections, including 23 housing, 5 retail and 72 office, as well as public facilities, aquariums, museums, hotels, exhibition halls, conference halls and mosques. Support services in the Northwest region include parking spaces for the 40.000 car. The southern region also houses housing and offices.
Transportation will be provided by single line system and suspension bridge.
The current view includes the 3,6 mileage system.

SAR- Mining Railway
The Saudi Railways Organization (SAR) for mines and passengers will build railways from the Al-Jalamid phosphate mine in the northwestern part of the Kingdom on AL-Zabirah to Riyadh, which will connect the existing railroad to the east coast.
Package 1: The current view covers an area of 576 km from the fertilization and aluminum complex in Ras Al Zour to the bauxite mine in Al Zabirah.

GCC Technical Committee - GCC Railway Network
The GCC Technical Committee plans to establish a railway network to connect with 6 GCC from Kuwait to Oman.
The railway is 2.177 km long and has the following sections:

SRO - Jeddah - Jizan & Taif - Khamis Mushayt Train Connection
Between Jeddah-Jizan and Khamis Mushayt, SRO plans to build a railway line connecting Taif to Khamis Mushayt in Saudi Arabia to ease traffic. This line will cover a length of 3.500 km

Mecca Municipality - Mecca Mass Transit Railway (MTR)
In order to facilitate the transportation of the pilgrims around the city, especially in the Hajj, Mecca Municipality is planning to construct a transit railway with an 113 station with a length of 24 km around Mecca. The first line will be 12 km from the Jamarat station in the east to the station where the Haramain's fast line will start from the Great Mosque.
The project is especially designed to facilitate the transportation of pilgrims around the city during the Hajj. Transit line will be able to carry 100.000 passengers per hour.

SRO-Western Region Railroad Network
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the only country in the Arabian Peninsula that has been built by the Ottomans to transport Islamic pilgrims to Mecca. The government plans to establish a railway line between Jeddah and Riyadh to create a continuous railway line from Jeddah to Damman. The construction of a railway line between Dammam and Jubail is also planned.

The Mecca-Medina line will be related to the passenger service sector with the Jidde-Mecca high-speed train line. The project is expected to increase the cargo volume with 19,5 to 30 million tons and the passenger capacity to 23 million per year.
