Yayladağı Mayor Mehmet Kalkan, in a statement to AA correspondent, noted that the bridge is close to 20 similar in Anatolia.
Stating that the arrangements will be made around the Kasımbey Bridge within the scope of the river rehabilitation works they carried out with DSI, Kalkan said, “This restoration of the millennial bridge, which has become a symbol of the district and is one of the important historical monuments of our country, was very important. The bridge will have a much better view with the stream improvement works to be done. ”
Kalkan said that the Kasımbey Bridge, which was opened to pedestrian traffic, will also open to vehicle traffic in a short time.
The 47 meter-long 5 meter-wide 5-eyed bridge, which has been known to have not been repaired in the past for a thousand years, has only been open to 2 eyes due to maintenance and heavy rains in recent years.
