On the other hand, our highway project works connecting Istanbul to İzmir continue in an intense manner. The bridge we will build on the gulf is the fourth in the world in its own standard. Hopefully, by the end of 2015, we will have completed both the Gulf crossing and the highway part up to Bursa. ”

Minister Elvan said the following about the "3-Storey Grand Istanbul Tunnel" project they announced last week:

“We are breaking new ground again. Just as we are building one of the biggest airports in the world, we will bring a 3-storey tunnel application under the sea for the first time to the world and hopefully bring it to our Istanbul. In this tunnel, one floor will be for metro systems, both arrival and departure. The other two floors will be used for cars. The route to be used for cars will be 16,1 kilometers. It will reach the TEM highway by passing under the Bosphorus from Asia to Europe.

Our metro system will exit Söğütlüçeşme on the Anatolian Side, pass under the Bosphorus and extend to İncirli. Its total length will be 31 kilometers. We are establishing a backbone subway system in Istanbul. Its daily capacity will be 1,5 million passengers. We plan to realize this important project with the build-operate-transfer model shortly after. Now Istanbulites will be able to schedule. This project is environmentally friendly. It is a very important project that does not touch the silhouette of Istanbul and reduces the emission of airborne carbon dioxide. ”

“We are continuing our railway investments rapidly”

Lütfi Elvan is another important project for Istanbul, from Köseköy to Kocaeli, from there, the 3rd bridge, the 3rd airport and HalkalıHe reminded that they had been awarded the project tender for the high speed train line infrastructure extending to Istanbul.

Stating that they will realize this project with the resources allocated from their own budget as the Ministry after the final project works are completed, Elvan said, “The importance of this project is very important. I said, 'Our citizens from Ankara to Istanbul will now have the opportunity to reach 1 hour and 15 minutes'. We are planning to make the section from Ankara Sincan to Köseköy with the build-operate-transfer model. We will grant the right of concession to the company that will make this investment on that route. As of Köseköy, we have provided our company with the privilege right, both the 3rd bridge and the 3rd airport and HalkalıWe will also allow the use of the railway line extending to Istanbul. Thus, it will become a very attractive project for our investors. ”

Elvan said that they continue to invest in railroads across the country.

“Our work on our Ankara-İzmir, Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line continues. Our 60-kilometer railway line connecting Bursa to the high-speed train line on the Eskişehir Istanbul route continues. Our work continues on the line that will connect Central Anatolia to the Mediterranean, Adana and Mersin, from Konya to Karaman, from there to Ulukışla and from there to Adana and Mersin. In a sense, we will bring our citizens and industrialists in Central Anatolia together with the Mediterranean and the port. Our Konya-Karaman line will probably be completed in a period of 8-10 months. We will continue our work in the part that quickly reaches the Mediterranean.

In addition to these, there are some important projects that we will start the construction work in 2015. We will start the construction works for the high speed line that will connect the Adana and Mersin route to Habur shortly. We will start the construction of the Gaziantep-Şanlıurfa line this year. Istanbul-Edirne line is another line that we plan to start building. We want to start the construction of the line that extends to Kapıkule. We will start the construction of Mersin-Adana, Sivas-Erzincan lines. Our works on the Adana-Gaziantep line in the Mediterranean region continue. We will also complete the works of the Bursa-Gemlik railway project this year. We will complete the final projects of the Erzincan-Erzurum-Kars, Eskişehir-Kütahya-Afyonkarahisar-Antalya high speed train lines this year. We started the project design of the Antalya-Konya-Aksaray-Nevşehir-Kayseri route and the Kırıkkale-Çorum-Samsun line and Yerköy-Aksaray-Ulukışla high-speed train lines. ”
