Şereflikoçhisar District Governor Erol Karaömeroğlu said that they have applied to TCDD so that Şereflikoçhisar can be included in the railway line project that will connect Samsun Port and Mersin Port.

Stating that Şereflikoçhisar's carrying capacity is very high, Karaömeroğlu said:
“There are approximately 2 million 240 thousand tons of products that can be transported annually in Şereflikoçhisar. Last year, it produced 2 million 1 thousand tons of salt with 600 salts operating in our district. 198 thousand tons of cereals, 330 thousand of gypsum, 45 thousand tons of sugar beet are produced. On the other hand, there are 4 million tons of coal reserves in our district and the shipments of the Exercise Center Command also take place in the carrying capacity. "
Expressing that Şereflikoçhisar is very close to the railway line, Karaömeroğlu pointed out that the population growth and growth will accelerate with the introduction of the freight train line to the district, and said, "Everyone in Şereflikoçhisar should meet on a common ground in this project, as well as natural gas, our fellow citizens should support this project." .
