A new center for winter tourism is coming: Work is underway to bring Bozdağ, which is 2 thousand 419 meters high, into winter tourism, which attracts attention with its geographical location, suitable weather conditions, snow type and snow retention feature in Tavas district.

In the Tavas district of Denizli, the works are ongoing to bring Bozdağ, which is 2 thousand 419 meters high, into winter tourism, which draws attention with its geographical location, snow type, snow holding feature, natural tracks, as well as the low impact of fog and wind. The facilities planned to be completed at the end of this year are aimed to be one of the centers of domestic and foreign tourism.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan said that Denizli, which has made a name for itself with its Pamukkale, travertines, thermal healing waters, textile and industry, which is on the UNESCO heritage list, said that important studies have been carried out to ensure that it can also exist in winter tourism. Reminding that Denizli is a city where local and foreign tourists can visit in 3 seasons of the year, Zolan said that the infrastructure investments to bring Bozdağ, which is 84 kilometers away from the city center, for winter tourism continue.

“Electricity has been connected to the area. The construction of two 800-meter-long chairlifts and one-thousand-500-meter teleski is being started. After the completion of the hotels, the winter tourism center, one of the biggest dreams of the city, will come to life ”.

Stating that 30 million lira has been invested in Bozdağ, Zolan said:

“Bozdağ, which will start to serve with the completion of its deficiencies and the completion of accommodation and recreational facilities, is very important for the city and the region on the way to becoming a new tourism center. Together with the infrastructure and facilities, the total investment reached 30 million TL. We made the area more beautiful with the 5 million lira resource we provided from the Ministry of Finance. We bought a snow pallet and a snowblower with a track. It is foreseen to ski over 90 days in the ski center. There are three ski runs with a length of 700, 500 and 700 meters. When the works are fully completed, 3 people will be able to be transported by chair lift per hour. "

COMING IN SERVICE IN DECEMBER 2015

Stating that Bozdağ is planned to be put into service in December 2015, Zolan said, “We are working day and night to put Bozdağ into service with all its facilities. I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially Nihat Zeybekci, our Minister of Economy. The investments made will make a great contribution to Denizli's tourism. With the opening of the facility, we will be able to compete with many ski centers in a short time ”.

Stating that experts evaluate the region as "advantageous due to low fog and less wind, in a geographical location where every visitor can ski, the topographical structure is very beautiful, the type of snow and retention feature is very good", Zolan said, "Before it was opened, it started to attract visitors from the surrounding provinces". .
