Metinvestin wagons have been halted in the Donetsk region: Metinvest, Ukraine's largest vertically integrated steelmaker, has announced that its shipment of raw materials from other subsidiaries of the company, Krasnodon Coal, has been blocked.
13 The wagons, departing from Krasnodon Coal to Krasnevon Coal, Azovsal and Avdiika Coke, for their affiliates, were stopped in the Krasnyi Port station in the Donetsk region due to the investigation of the Ukrainian State Financial Services. Five days later the wagons were seized by the Ukrainian Security Service.
22 In January, the court decided to release the wagons; however, the Ukrainian Security Service continues to keep the wagons at the station, taking into account the provisional ban decision.
29 As of January, the 144 wagons carrying coal and scrap at the station were blocked, while the other 166 wagons crossed the station. Another 336 coal carriage from Krasnodon Coal on this railway section also departed to go to the establishment of Metinvest.
Blocking the products supplied by Krasnodon Coal may result in a decline in the production of Metinvest's metallurgical plants and the suspension of battery production by Avdiivka Coke.
