Accidents in Uludag were discussed in the parliament: CHP Bursa MP and Party Assembly Member Sena Kaleli brought the fatal accidents that occurred in Uludag, which is the favorite center of winter tourism, to the agenda of the parliament.
Senator of CHP Bursa and Party Councilor Sena Kaleli brought the fatal accidents that occurred two days apart in Uludağ, which is the favorite center of winter tourism, on the 25th and 27th of January.
Kaleli asked for the explanation of the causes of these accidents, which frequently occur in Uludağ and lead to loss of life and property, while 8-year-old Elif Uymuşlar and 49-year-old Necla Aladağ, who came to Uludağ for the Semester holiday, brought the accidents to the agenda. Kaleli, who prepared a proposal regarding the question of Uludağ between the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, the Ministry of Forestry, the General Directorate of National Parks and the General Directorate of Highways, and submitted a proposal to the parliament with the request of Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu to answer. In the proposal submitted by Kaleli to the Turkish Grand National Assembly regarding the accidents in Uludağ, the following statements are included:
“In Uludağ, which is the favorite center of winter tourism in our country, the fatal accidents that occurred two days apart on January 25 and 27 brought the security measures in the ski resorts back to the public agenda. 8-year-old Elif Uymuşlar, who came to Uludağ for the semester break, lost his balance and slipped into the stream bed while sliding with the sled and died despite all efforts. Necla Aladağ, 49, was seriously injured as a result of a vehicle sliding on an icy road in Uludağ, but could not be saved. This situation affects the region negatively and also causes the questioning of the ski centers.
However, in all ski centers in developed countries, special areas are created for snow sports (sled, cross country skiing, ski jumping, snowboarding, snowtubing, land motor tours), and a separate track and lifts are organized for first-time learners. In addition to all these, there is a confusion of authority between Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Ministry of Forestry, General Directorate of National Parks and General Directorate of Highways in Uludağ. Which institutions and organizations belong to the organization and responsibility of arranging the ski areas in the ski resorts in our country, especially Uludağ, determining the tracks and tracks and taking security measures in these areas?
Are the ski resorts in our country in line with international standards? In which of our ski centers are there separate tracks and arrangements for those who are just going to start sledding, cross-country skiing, skiing, ski jumping and snowboarding? Do you have any work as a ministry on this subject? Has an investigation been initiated on the accidents that resulted in the death of Elif Uymuşlar and Necla Aladağ in Uludağ on January 25 and 27? How does the safety and health system work on these tracks? Is there a pavement to the extent that pedestrians can walk on the road to Uludağ? Is it true that the General Directorate of Highways does not allow pavement construction? Has a study been initiated in collaboration with other institutions regarding the causes or causes of accidents that frequently occur in Uludağ and cause loss of life and property?
Is the team and equipment sufficient for security, search and rescue activities related to the problems that may occur in Uludağ? Do the gendarmerie teams in the region have the necessary training in this regard? Are there checks, periodic maintenance and inspections of hotel runway signs, teleskies and ski lifts and lighting in Uludağ? Which institutions and organizations are responsible for this issue? Will a study be initiated on the collection of all regulation and supervision activities in a single institution and no confusion of authority related to the ski centers authorized by Forestry and Water Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Youth and Sports Ministries, municipalities and Highways directorates ?. At the meeting of Uludağ National Park Coordination Board held in Uludağ on 9.10.12.2014, a 36-item decision was taken.
Which of these items has been made operational in the intervening time? Will sending circulars to all licensed unlicensed firms following fatal accidents will not bring back lost lives, and will it sufficiently discourage lives with excessive profits that will be lost if measures are not taken? Is a solution considered for pedestrians and picnickers with the pollution caused by the so-called tours organized by dozens of buses that are not known on weekends and on the semester break? Uludag issued in 2009, "Turkey's Davos" is making me promise to protect the validity? What steps have been taken in this regard although six years have passed?
