Tender for Zigana Tunnel Concludes: The tender period of the 12,9-kilometer Zigana Tunnel, which is planned to be built on the historical Silk Road route connecting the Eastern Black Sea to the Middle East, ends on January 29.
During the visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the city on October 12, 2014, the tender period of the Zigana Tunnel, which heralded that the project will be completed and the tender will be held on November 10, will be completed on January 29.
Highways 10th Regional Director Selahattin Bayramçavuş stated in his statement that the first evaluations were made during the tender process and the tender process will end on January 29th.

Stating that works will be started on both sides of the mountain, Bayramçavuş said, “Approximately 3 million cubic meters of excavation will be unloaded in this project. Therefore, our only problem is that we do not have a warehouse area. The Zigana tunnel is a huge project, but its production will be like the tunnel work we do on the ring road we continue to work on in Gümüşhane. We will make entries for the tunnels mutually. We need to have a warehouse area to get started immediately. This is extremely important for us ”.
