Sabiha Gökçen Airport flooded the connection road: In Pendik, flood waters caused by melting snow and heavy rain closed the Sabiha Gökçen Airport connection road. The TEM connection road going from Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Pendik direction was opened to traffic again after the works.
The TEM connection road going from Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Pendik direction, which was closed due to flood at 15.00, was opened to traffic again.
The statement made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on the subject is as follows:
“Due to heavy rain in the evening hours, the water accumulated in the pond near Sabiha Gökçen Airport caused flooding on the connection road between TEM Highway and E-5 Highway with landslide. As a result of the hard work of the teams, the road was cleaned from rubble and opened to traffic. ”

While the Pendik direction closed to transportation due to the flooding in Aydınlı, vehicles on the road were stuck in the mud dragged by the flood, and drivers had a hard time rescuing their vehicles from the mud. Traffic police directed the vehicles from Aydınlı Sapağı to Aydınlı.
As a result of the work of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Road Maintenance and Repair Directorate teams, the road was opened to traffic completely after about 3 hours.
