Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Lütfi Elvan announced at the press conference yesterday that they are planning to build a tourism high-speed line that connects Antalya to Konya, Aksaray, Nevşehir and Kayseri. Evaluating the statement made by Minister Elvan, Kayseri Chamber of Commerce President Mahmut Hicilyil said, “Transportation is important for the development of a province. Kayseri is not on the highway area. Looking at Istanbul, Ankara and Gaziantep, it is seen that the places with motorway lines are in greater development. We aim to be a province that develops in transportation point. ”
Hizyilmaz also said, “High speed train is important in the development of a province. In this context, we see that the high-speed train running between Konya, Ankara and Eskişehir contributes to the economic development of these regions. The construction of the Kayseri line on the Ankara-Sivas line is on our agenda, but more importantly, it will enable tourists to come from Antalya region to Kayseri in order to make sense of ski tourism investments in Erciyes and to go from Antalya to Kayseri. We have said before that Antalya, Aksaray, Nevşehir and Kayseri lines should be built. When we met with Mr. Lüfti Erhan at the reception in the Palace of the Republic, where TÜBİTAK Science Awards were held, he said that he was on the schedule of this year.
