Passengers were stranded for 1 and a half hours in İZBAN (İzmir Suburban System), which went on the wrong track and did not open its doors. Some of the passengers fainted.
Allegedly, İZBAN, which organizes expeditions between Aliğa and Cumaovası, got up from Alsancak Station and arrived at Kemer Station at around 17.00. The train, which had been waiting for half an hour before its doors opened, continued in the opposite direction. The train, which went off its route at Hilal stop, entered the rail line whether it should change track or not. The train, which stopped here, waited for about an hour and a half. On the train, whose doors did not open, some of the passengers fainted, while the children cried. Passengers who could not stand in the airless train, opened the doors and crossed dangerously on foot on the rail lines to Hilal Stop. As a precautionary measure, medical teams directed the train to the place. Some of those who got off the train were seen crying.
Feyzullah Aydoğdu, who was trapped in the train, said, “They made no explanation. We opened the doors of the train. It was dangerous, but I had to pass, ”another passenger said,“ The train broke down, the rails could not change, came back. We are all stuck inside. We were dying, we were dying. ”
İZBAN did not continue for about an hour and a half. Authorities were not informed when İZBAN phones were locked.
