İZBAN Cumaovası-Tepeköy line 2015 will be launched in May

The İZBAN Cumaovası-Tepeköy line will be put into service in May 2015: Lütfi Elvan, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, made examinations on the İZBAN Cumaovası-Tepeköy line, which will soon start test drives in İzmir.

Stating that İZBAN, which continues with the cooperation of the state and local administrations, is among the projects that are shown as an example in the world, Elvan stated that the 80-kilometer section between Aliağa and Cumovası, which is still in service, has an indispensable position for İzmir.
Underlining that IZBAN has carried 222 million passengers so far, Minister Elvan said that the project has been invested 5,2 billion Turkish lira until now, 1,2 billion liras of this amount has been met by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and the remaining amount has been covered by TCDD.
Stating that the works are continuing for the extension of the line, the works from Friday to Tepeköy are almost finished, there is a small section about signalization, "I hope we will have put this line fully into service in May 2015 at the latest."
Giving information about the route from Tepeköy to Selçuk, Elvan announced that TCDD completed the tender and delivered the place to the relevant company and that the digging will be hit in January. Elvan noted that TCDD has completed the project work for the line extending from Aliağa to Bergama and that an application has been made for the Ministry of Development to be included in the investment program.
Referring to the Izmir High Speed ​​Train project at the end of his speech, Transport Maritime and Communication Minister Lütfi Elvan pointed out that the high speed train line that will connect Izmir to Istanbul will pass through Bergama and said, “We will continue to serve İzmir. We will continue to open the blocked roads in İzmir's transportation and access area. İzmir is a very important city for us. ” he spoke.
