Antalya Airport will also be connected to the rail system: Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Menderes Türel explained the rail system projects in his speech at the press conference held at the Antalya Water and Wastewater Administration (ASAT).
President Türel also touched on the rail system works to be carried out on the 18-kilometer route between EXPO and Meydan. Stating that Antalya Airport will also be connected to this line, Türel noted that local and foreign tourists coming to the city can exit the airport and reach every point of EXPO and Antalya by rail system.
Türel mentioned that they carried out this study in cooperation with Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication General Directorate of Infrastructure and announced that the projects were submitted to the Ministry. Ministry made the necessary inspections and the decision of the Council of Ministers to mention the expecting Türel, the decision can be taken this week, he said.
Türel, about 220 million pounds planned to be used in the rail system will be provided by the metropolitan municipality, the tender will be released tomorrow, he said.
Recalling that important projects will be realized by taking the opinion of the people before the elections, Türel underlined that they are working in line with the demands of the citizens. EXPO-Square line in the region by the referendum in the 22 neighborhood that was decided to the Türel, according to the 98,42 percent of the public, the attention of the line drew attention.
Türel stated that the third stage rail system line, which will start to be built in accordance with the approval of the public, will start in front of Varsak Municipality, follow Sakarya Boulevard, return from Akdeniz University Campus to Meltem District, and the line will end at Antalya Education Research Hospital.
