Wild animals will be connected to life through ecological bridges

Wild animals will be connected to life with ecological bridges: The Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, which requires the provision of 3 ecological bridges for wild animals, which may be affected by the 6rd bridge under construction in Istanbul, will also be implemented in other highway projects.
As part of the study conducted by the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks and the General Directorate of Forestry, the densities of wildlife populations and mobility were determined, where the ecological bridges were to be built on the route route and the areas to be done were reported to the General Directorate of Highways.
The Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs launched a study for wild animals that may be affected by the 3rd bridge under construction in Istanbul. Ecological bridges will be built to allow the crossing of wild animals while the bridge's connection roads are being built.
Thanks to the 6 bridge to be built, the living spaces of wild animals will also be preserved.
The Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs implemented an exemplary bridge in Mersin to prevent the division of wildlife and contribute to biodiversity.
The General Directorate of Forestry, which renewed the bridge on the highway connecting Gülek Strait and the Mediterranean to Central Anatolia, in the framework of its cooperation with the Regional Directorate of Highways, put the existing bridge into practice as the "Forest Ecosystem Bridge".
- Determining the densities of living populations
The General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks and the General Directorate of Forestry have started to identify the densities of wildlife populations and hence mobility.
The areas where the ecological bridges will be built on the road route and the areas where these bridges are to be made have been reported to the General Directorate of Highways.
After the completion of the works, construction of ecological bridges will be started.
- Traffic accidents caused by the animal will be prevented
Constructing ecological structures such as overpasses and underpasses, which lead to the impoverishment of genetic resources and which lead to fragmentation of forest areas, will contribute to biodiversity.
In addition, the roads passing through the habitats of wild animals increase traffic accidents and cause loss of life and property. The project will prevent traffic accidents caused by wild animals.
Ecological bridges are planned to be implemented in other highway projects to be implemented.
