Sarajevo is a favorite of skiers: Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has been flocked with visitors in all seasons with its historical and natural beauties, took on a different beauty with the arrival of winter.

In the summer months, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which resembles a corner of heaven with its lush nature, also has a different appearance under the white snow in winter.

Skiing centers in the capital Sarajevo, which started to host ski lovers with the arrival of the winter season, started to become active with the opening of the season.

Important ski centers such as Byelashnitsa, Yahorina and Igman near Sarajevo, which hosted the 1984 Winter Olympics, completed the preparations for the new season with the start of the winter season.

It is also very easy to reach ski resorts that offer important opportunities to tourists with ski slopes for all levels and accommodation options for every budget. Byelashnitsa and Igman ski centers, which are only 20 minutes away from Sarajevo, are among the places where ski lovers show the most interest due to their proximity to the city.

In these two ski resort about 10 kilometers in length, where the ski slopes suitable for all levels, compared to prices in Turkey to find ski accommodation and ski facilities at more affordable prices possible.

In Byelashnitsa and Igman, where the ski season opened on December 21, the snow depth increased to over 20 centimeters after the last snowfall.

The Yahorina ski center, which was not damaged during the war in Bosnia, is 28 kilometers from Sarajevo. In Yahorina, which has much wider ski tracks compared to Igman and Byelashnitsa, there are areas suitable for ski cross, sled, night skiing and hiking.

In the meantime, entertainment programs will be organized at the hotels on New Year's Eve for those who want to enter the new year in Byelashnitsa, Yahorina and Igman.

Balkan Tour General Manager Selim Dilek, operating in Sarajevo, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the ski resorts in Sarajevo, where the Winter Olympics were held in 1984, have the infrastructure to be among the best ski centers in the world.

explaining that they prepare special winter tourism packages to Dilek, Turkey's all over the Sarajevo travel agent stressed that up to half of the cost price in Turkey.

Stating that those who will visit Sarajevo can ski and visit other touristic cities, Dilek noted that it is possible to do both winter and cultural tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina during this season.

Dilek said that the tourism packages they prepare include 3 night-4 days, 4 night-5 days and 5 night-6 day options, adding that the prices of the packages start from 399 euros.

By the way, Turkish Airlines (THY) and Pegasus Airlines have flights between Istanbul and Sarajevo every day of the week and the ticket prices are cheaper due to the winter season, making Sarajevo one of the favorite places for winter travel.
