Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Lütfi Elvan spoke at a ceremony held at Konya Train Station due to the launch of Konya-Istanbul High Speed ​​Train services, and gave information about the Konya-Istanbul railway line.

Elvan stated that the total length of the existing conventional railway line is 747 kilometers and the total travel time is 13 hours.

KONYA-ISTANBUL BETWEEN TIME

“When you want to travel by bus, it is 714 kilometers over Ankara and 660 kilometers over Afyon. Total travel time is over 10 hours. Hopefully, as of the end of January, we are gradually introducing our trains that speed 300 kilometers per hour. Therefore, the distance between Istanbul and Konya will fall under 4 hours. On the other hand, we have full 2800 km high speed train and high speed train lines that we continue to build. With the completion of these lines, our citizens of Konya will be able to reach Konya from Izmir in 3 hours 40 minutes, again from Konya to Bursa in 2 hours 40 minutes, from Konya to Sivas in 3,5 hours. ”

NATIONAL TRAINS ON RAILS IN 2018

Explaining that railway investments are increasing day by day, Elvan stated that there were 2013 billion lira railway investments in 6,5, and this figure increased to 2014 billion lira in 7,5.

Stating that they will make 8,5 billion lira railroad investment next year, Elvan said, “We will be providing comfortable, easy and economic opportunities to both our citizens and industrialists by realizing more than 2016 billion lira railway investments starting from 10. Hopefully, with the participation of our President and Prime Minister, we are launching our fully domestic high-national high speed train on the rails in 2018 ”.
