Horizontal drilling for the surface waters of the Izmit railway station: The General Directorate of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is building a rainwater line with horizontal drilling to remove surface waters of the region between TCDD Izmit Railway Station and Central Bank Kocaeli Directorate.

The horizontal drilling between the Central Bank and the Izmit Marina will be carried out at the minus 80 elevation under the sea in Salim Dervişoğlu Caddesi Marina area. Within the scope of the ongoing work under the train rails, a total of 800 meters of horizontal drilling will be made by using a reinforced concrete pipe with a diameter of 61 mm.
With the completion of the work that will last for a month and cost 170 thousand TL, the rainwater in the region will be connected to the rainwater line in the Marina area. Thus, in every rainwater, there will be prevented the accumulation of water in the Railway Station and the Central Bank.
