First Direct Rail Transport from China to Spain Completed: First direct rail freight transport between China and Spain After the 30-container freight train from China Yiwu covered 13000km distance for 21 days, to Madrid intermodal terminal on December 9, 2014 ended with his arrival.
After departing from China, the train reached Spain via Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany and France. A commercial agreement was reached between China and Spain in September 2014 for the start of service.
