BTK Railway Line Project Has Ended

Governor Özdemir also pointed out that the BTK Railway Line Project will be put into service at the end of 2015 and stated that the works in this regard are continuing at full speed.

Özdemir stated that it is important to become the center of the project and to increase in economic sense.
“With the high-speed train coming from Istanbul to Kars, it shows that economic, social and cultural communication with the Caucasus region can also speed up. With the launch of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Line, there will be a million passenger capacity in the first place per year. In addition, freight transport will come into play. First of all, marketing of the products produced by the three countries will come to the agenda. The project of the logistics center in Kars is also being prepared. The Ministry of Transport made its tender. At the beginning of 2016, we will put the logistics center into operation together with the railway.
