Privatization traffic for highways and bridges will accelerate in 2015: Privatization traffic on bridges and highways is accelerating in 2015. Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek said that the bridges and highways, including the Bosphorus and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridges, will be privatized.

Privatizations, which are carefully watched by foreign investors as well as by foreigners, will accelerate in 2015. Providing information on the subject, Minister of Finance Mehmet Şimşek said, "With privatizations, the service quality of highways and bridges will be increased, traffic and passenger safety will be increased with better standards, cost savings and efficiency will be increased". Stating that the construction, maintenance, repair and operation of highways and bridges are carried out by the General Directorate of Highways, Şimşek gave the information that "There are routine maintenance and repair costs for the maintenance, repair and operation of highways and bridges and large maintenance costs". Şimşek stated which privatization method will be preferred in privatization, excluding the “transfer of ownership” and the privatization strategy will be shaped by the studies to be carried out, and underlined that valuation studies will be carried out with internationally accepted valuation methods.

Finance Minister Şimşek, MHP Kütahya Deputy Prof. Dr. Responding to Alim Işık's motion, he listed the bridges and highways that will be privatized in a short time as follows:
* Edirne-Istanbul-Ankara Highway,
* Pozantı-Tarsus- Mersin Motorway,
* Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep Highway,
* Toprakkale-Iskenderun Motorway,
* Gaziantep-Şanlıurfa Highway,
* İzmir-Çeşme Motorway,
* İzmir-Aydın Highway,
* İzmir, Ankara and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge Environmental Motorways,
* Connection roads with Bosphorus and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridges.
