8-year delayed metro to Bornova Merkez | İzmir Metro Bornova line

8-year delayed metro to Bornova Center: Izmir Metropolitan Municipality pushed the button for the countdown of the Izmir Metro Bornova Central station and the 2008-meter tunnel, which was delayed due to the fact that the ground was sandy and sandy in 1163, and that it creates a risk for the buildings on the underground tunnel. The Metropolitan Municipality, which also completed the consultancy tender of the line, which will be completed at the end of the year and will be manufactured in the form of a narrow double tunnel, will be awarded to the construction tender in 2015.

The construction of the tunnel between Evka-3 Station of Bornova line and Bornova Central Station of Izmir Metro, which is the most important pillar of public transportation, will be restarted after 8 years. The construction, which started at Bornova Station opposite the Ege University Hospital, which was started to be built in 2007 in the Izmir Metro, started in 3.3, covering the 3 km long line, Campus, Evka 2008 and Bornova Central stations. During the excavations in the direction of Bornova Square, where the Bornova Central Station will be built after the Evka-3 Station, the company was asked to carry out an application project on the reports that the soil would be clayey and sandy, which would pose a risk to the buildings on it. When the company did not undertake this, the construction of this part of the construction was postponed. The remaining construction of the Bornova subway has been completed due to the failure of the contractor Bozoğlu company. The construction that was put out to tender was completed in 2012. However, Bornova Central Station and tunnel could not be built.

Metropolitan Municipality has put out a tender for the application project to extend the metro to Bornova Center this year. The company that won the tender and continues its works will deliver the project at the beginning of 2015, which is the end of the additional period it receives. In the meantime, the Metropolitan Municipality also made the tender for the consultancy to supervise during the implementation phase. According to the project, the Bornova center will be reached by the 3-meter tunnel starting from Evka 1163 Station and the station to be built. In the canceled project, the line, which is wide and single tunnel, will be converted into narrow and double tunnel shape this time. With the completion of the new line, the construction tender will be launched in 2015, it will be possible to reach Bornova Center in 33 minutes from Fahrettin Altay Station.
