Army's asphalt costs more than the airport

The asphalt cost of the army is more than the airport: The 309-kilometer asphalting work, which Ordu Metropolitan Municipality recently awarded 752 million lira, started with a ceremony.
The asphalting work is expected to exceed the cost of Ordu-Giresun Airport, which is said to approach 300 million liras.
The 309-kilometer asphalting work, which Ordu Metropolitan Municipality has recently awarded 752 million lira, started with a ceremony. Governor İrfan Balkanlıoğlu, Ordu Metropolitan Mayor Enver Yılmaz, district mayors, council members and guests attended the ceremony held in the construction site opposite Ordu University in Cumhuriyet Mahallesi. At the ceremony, Governor Balkanlıoğ emphasized the importance of road service by reminding Halil Rıfat Pasha, who was the Governor of Sivas during the Ottoman Empire period, 'The place you cannot go is not yours'. Reminding that the Special Provincial Administration made efforts to asphalte the village roads in the past, Balkanlıoğlu said, “In the past, our Special Provincial Administration has always tried to raise the standards of the village roads and made asphalt roads. The geographical and natural conditions of our region have quickly eroded these roads. If something is to be done, it must be done perfectly ”. Stating that hot asphalt work is a good investment that will continue for many years, even if it is expensive, Balkanlıoğlu said, “The road is more important than anything else. "If we cannot reach a place, if the ambulance cannot come when we are sick, if we cannot go anywhere in an emergency, it is not worth staying there, waiting at the mountainside."
Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz stated that the project, which will cost 309 million lira, will be completed in 3 years, and that the hot asphalt project will be more expensive than Ordu-Giresun Airport. Yılmaz said: “This project will cost 309 million liras with value added taxes. These roads built during the 3-year working period will constitute approximately 70 percent of our budget. The cost of Ordu-Giresun Airport, which is the 3rd airport in the world and the 1st airport in Europe built on the sea, will reach 270 million TL and possibly 300 million TL. The cost of the hot asphalt road tender, which we have laid the foundation for today, will exceed the airport as 309 million TL. In this respect, it will go down in history as the biggest project of Ordu. In addition, the group and all of the side roads in Ordu will be made within this scope. After the speeches, the ribbon was cut by Balkanlıoğlu, Yılmaz, protocol members and the guests, and the project started.
