Freight will also be transported on high-speed train lines: After Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan announced that as the economic management, they prepared an action plan that includes more than 9 items within the scope of 25 special transformation programs in 1200 basic policies, the details of the plan began to become clear.
One of the important parts of the action plan will be the logistics program. The most important feature of the program in question will be related to the high speed train lines. Currently the high speed train lines are not suitable for freight transport. For this reason, studies will be started to make high-speed train lines suitable for freight transportation up to 2018. Improvement of the Kars-Tbilisi-Baku border crossings, the establishment of the Logistics Coordination Board are among the contents of the plan. At the end of the process, the logistics industry is expected to be turned into the transport sector in Turkey.
