- A port will be built next to the airport: The Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications has added a cargo project to the new airport to be built in Istanbul. Within the scope of the project, trains and seaways will be connected directly to the airport and will provide cargo service from Asia to Europe in the fastest way.
Istanbul's 3rd airport, which will take its place among the largest airports in the world when its construction is completed, will also be the first in the world in freight transportation. The Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications expanded the scope of the 3rd Airport Project.
Due to the proximity of the airport to the sea, it will be possible to transport from sea to air or from air to sea. This will both reduce the density in the Bosphorus and speed up cargo transportation. According to the system planned by the Ministry, a port will be built next to the airport for Ro-Ro ships carrying large loads such as containers, trains and trucks.
