Mecidiyeköy will make the excavation of Mahmutbey Metro to Tasmanian Devil

Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey Metro excavation will be carried out by Tasmanian Devil: Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey Metro excavation will be made by a 6.5-meter-long tunnel boring machine to be brought from Tasmania.

The tunnel boring machine (TBM), called 'Tasmanian Devil', will be excavated from the subway, which will reduce the travel time between Mecidiyeköy and Mahmutbey to 26 minutes.

EXCAVATION WILL START AT THE END OF THE YEAR
Gülermak-Kolin-Kalyon Business Partnership, which made the subway, ordered a 6,56m diameter TBM for the tunnel boring machine to be used in the excavation of the tunnels, in Central Australia, Tasmania. It is stated that the test works of TBM, which is produced specifically for the rock structure of Istanbul, are about to be completed. Upon completion of the testing machine factory it will be transported to Turkey and the end of the year will begin to dig. The 17.5 km and 15 station metro line will pass through 6 districts. Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey Metro Line will start integrated with the existing metro station in Mecidiyeköy. The line will be integrated to the Edirnekapı Sultançiftliği line passing through the areas of Çağlayan, Kağıthane, Nurtepe Alibeyköy, and from there, to the Mahmutbey-Başakşehir line, which was opened to new service through Tekstilkent, Yüzyıl Mahallesi.

70 THOUSAND PASSENGER
The line, which scanned dense areas in terms of business and settlement, later on from Mecidiyeköy KabataşIt is planned to be extended to. The metro line will be capable of carrying 70 thousand people in one direction per hour. When the metro line goes into service, travel time from Mecidiyeköy to Mahmutbey will decrease to 26 minutes. The metro is planned to be put into service in 2017.
