Smart road application contract between Aselsan and KGM: A contract worth 18,7 million TL was signed between Aselsan and General Directorate of Highways.
The first “smart road” application on the motorways will be carried out between Gebze-Izmit west junctions.
In a statement from ASELSAN, most traffic accidents Gebze and Izmit in western happening on the road between junctions 40 kilometers in Turkey. According to last year's data, the Gebze-Izmit section of the TEM Highway attracts attention as the road section with the highest vehicle traffic after the Bosphorus bridges, with an average of 25 thousand vehicle passes per day, 70 thousand of which are heavy vehicles.
With the “Gebze-Izmit West Intersection Traffic Management System Facility Project”, which ASELSAN started its work, on this road where heavy traffic is experienced, to inform the drivers about the weather and road conditions, to automatically arrange the speed limits according to the density and to keep the drivers who do not obey the rules. It is aimed to be punished with smart systems.
Thanks to the “smart road”, it will be ensured that the most vehicles harmoniously and comfortably benefit from the highway and that fatal and injured accidents are prevented.
The statement made by Aselsan to KAP is as follows: "Construction work between ASELSAN and the GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF HIGHWAYS, Construction of a Traffic Management System between Gebze Junction and Izmit West Junction between the 1st Regional Directorate of O-1 Motorway Gebze" will start subsequently. The amount of the contract is 4 TL and this disclosure is made in accordance with the letter of the Administration, which reached ASELSAN on 18.745.789 August 8.
