Izmit Bay Crossing Suspension Bridge towers are rising rapidly: Tower Crossing Suspension Bridge's tower height reached to 3,5 meter which is the most important part of the highway project which will reduce the time between Istanbul and Izmir to 54 hours.


The towers are rapidly rising in the construction of the Izmit Bay Crossing Suspension Bridge, which is the world's largest mid-span 4 suspension bridge.

The steel blocks manufactured in Gemlik are brought to a shipyard in Altınova. Here, the blocks and security platforms are installed on the floating cranes, which are rented from the Netherlands. The towers with an average of 10 meters per week are planned to be completed at the end of the year by exceeding the 250 meter. The four towers have a total of 88 steel blocks. The most heavy blocks of approximately 350 tonnes will be placed recently, while the top blocks will weigh 170 tons.

Studies continue 24 hours
