The railway will turn Tekirdağ into a city of transportation and trade: Ak Party Promotion and Media Vice President İhsan Şener talked about the investments made by the Ak Party government in Tekirdağ over a 12-year period.

By connecting Marmaray with Tekirdağ to the 12 thousand kilometer railway line, transportation was provided to every corner of the country. After 2 years, the freight trains will reach the ports of Derince and Bandırma from the Tekirdağ-Muratlı line during the day and will connect to Europe, and pass through Marmaray at night. In addition, 150 years later, Tekirdağ part of the Rumeli railway was renewed. Historical stations were restored, he said.
