Yıldırım said, “It is thought-provoking that the dear candidate ignored the prime minister of the project, while the prime minister thanked the prime ministers and the ministers for the construction of Marmaray.
Yıldırım, in a written statement, stated in the visual and written media that there are reports that CHP and MHP candidate İhsanoğlu traveled between Üsküdar and Yenikapı by riding on Marmaray, the project of the century.
“The candidate, in his statement, declared that he has been following the project since 1999. When we look at what he says, it is understood that the century did not follow the project very well. ”Yıldırım said,“ Marmaray is a 'century-old dream' project. The story goes back to 1860, Abdulmecit Efendi, Sultan II. It goes up to Abdülhamit. In our recent history, various attempts have been made for the construction of Marmaray, but progress has not been achieved. ”
Noting that the works were brought to the agenda for the realization of the project during the period of the DSP-MHP-ANAP coalitions and the consultancy firm was chosen for this, Yıldırım stated that the minister responsible for the treasury brought from the USA by the tripartite coalition government did not guarantee the initiation of the project because it did not guarantee the treasury.
