Luxembourg is planning to build a light rail line: Luxembourg plans to build a light rail network, and 14 gave the City Council a realization of the project on June.
At the first stage, according to the consensus agreement, a joint company will be established with the Luxembourg government. The new company will be responsible for the design, implementation and operation of the LuxTram SA network and its operation between its own and neighboring municipalities.
The first phase of the project will be 6,4 km long approach and will be the 14 station. The budget of the first phase is estimated to be around € 230,5 million. The construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2015.
