Governor Held, Investments on Highways Investigated

Governor Mustafa Tutulmaz, who stated that the reason for the inability to complete the highways investments in a long time is due to strategic mistakes, argued that positive discrimination should be made to Siirt, who was victims of highways investments. Governor Tutlamaz said that the Siirt ring road under construction, the 6-kilometer divided road between Siirt-Kurtalan and the Siirt-Eruh-Şırnak road should be focused on as soon as possible. Explaining that the works should be increased in order to complete the roads as soon as possible and put them into the service of the public, Governor Tutulmaz said, “We will have initiatives before the Ministry of Transport in Ankara to speed up the road construction works and to get funds.”
Şamil Gülen, 9th Regional Director of Highways, made a presentation on the investments made in Siirt province. Stating that the biggest problems in Siirt are due to the expropriation problems with the citizens and the insufficient allocated funds, Gülen said that the investments could not be realized within the planned timeframe for these reasons.
