Zoning Plan Modification Decision on Overpass in Torbalı: In Torbalı Municipal Council, the zoning plan amendment decision was taken regarding the İZBAN overpass, which is planned to be built in Muratbey District.
Torbalı Municipal Council convened with a single agenda to discuss the modification of the zoning plan, which envisages the project to be moved 800 meters further, when the overpass to be built in Muratbey District coincides with the large square project of Torbalı Municipality.
CHP council members argued that an underpass should be built in the same place before the proposal was announced, and that shifting the overpass project forward would not be a solution. Mayor Adnan Yaşar Görmez, who evaluated the proposal of CHP members as an attempt to undermine the planned city square project, said, "History will record what you have done."
As a result of the voting, the zoning plan amendment was accepted by the majority of votes. If the Metropolitan Municipality Council accepts this motion passed by the Torbalı Municipal Council, the location of the İZBAN highway overpass will change.
