In India the world's tallest railroad bridge is being built

The world's tallest railway bridge is being built in India: When completed in 2016, the railway bridge built over the Himalayas in India will be the tallest bridge in the world. The bridge is built higher than the Eiffel Tower.

An arch-shaped steel bridge is being built on the Chenap River to connect the regions of Northern Jammu and Kashmir in India. When the bridge is completed, it will break the record for the 275-meter-high bridge over the Beipanjiang River in China's Guizhou province. The height of the bridge is expected to be 359 meters. The height of the Eiffel Tower is 300 meters with the antenna.

The bridge, which started to work in 2002, is planned to be completed in 2016. The bridge is designed to be resistant to seismic activities and high wind speeds. An all-Indian team of engineers works on the bridge.
