Gendarmerie commandos in the countryside to protect the YHT line: Eskisehir-Istanbul High Speed Train (YHT) line delaying the opening of the gendarmerie commando unit against cable theft was introduced. Gendarmerie commandos assigned to the teams will ensure the safety of the railway line.
While the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Lütfi Elvan, declared that the cutting of the signaling and communication line cables on the YHT line between Istanbul and Eskişehir delays the voyages, the security forces continue their work for theft and sabotage. Extensive security measures were taken in areas where the line passes and where theft is intense.
In Sapanca district, the police are trying to secure the line with the special team of 20. In the countryside, the special gendarmerie commando unit was appointed for the safety of the railway.
A gendarmerie commando unit, affiliated to Sakarya but assigned to public order incidents in Istanbul, returned to the city to ensure the security of the YHT line.
The Union will serve as a patrol for theft and sabotage.
In the Sapanca section of the YHT line, 2,5 people were detained last month.
