HOW DO THE SYSTEM WORK?
With the regulation, the driving licenses issued for motor bicycles (M), motorcycles (A), Cars (B), rubber wheeled tractors (F), heavy-duty motor vehicles (G) will be valid only for 10 years. C and D class licenses for trucks and trailers, minibuses and buses will be renewed every 5 years. Those who have completed 10 years and want to extend their license have to get a medical report from a fully-fledged hospital. Drivers who successfully pass the driving tests by obtaining the health report will have extended their license for 10 years. The ministry plans to begin the exchange of documents in early 2015. According to Milliyet's report, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is working on a draft that will make important changes in the "Highway Traffic Regulation". The period of driving with a single license for a lifetime is coming to an end. With the arrangement, the period of getting a driver's license at the age of 18 and driving with the same license for years will end. The expiration date of the driver's license will be in writing. Those who want to extend the time will receive a medical report from a full-fledged hospital and will be withdrawn from driving tests. The new driver's licenses are designed by the staff of the General Directorate of Police, the Directorate of Traffic Services and the staff of the General Directorate of Mint and Stamp Press. Photo, name, surname, place of birth, date and validity period will be written on the front of the new driver's license.
