Pedaled to attract attention to cyclists in traffic: As part of the Road Safety and Traffic Week activities, the 250 cyclist pedaled to attract attention to cyclists in traffic.
250 bicycle enthusiasts, who participated in the "We Are In The Traffic" event organized with the support of Sakarya Governorship, Metropolitan Municipality and some non-governmental organizations, gathered in the City Square.
The athletes who form a convoy with their bicycles pedaled up to the Traffic Park in Serdivan district in order to raise awareness about the importance of safe driving.
At the end of the event, 10 person was given a bicycle as a gift by the lottery among the participants.
Deputy Governor Hikmet Dinc, AA correspondent, said the event was intense participation.
Stating that their aim is to encourage cycling, Dinç said, “As it is known, the bicycle sports vehicle is also a vehicle that will alleviate the biggest problem of our cities, reduce the traffic, reduce environmental pollution, and ensure safe transportation of the people. We want to expand the use of bicycles, ”he said.
Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Salih Koşu stated that the participation was high despite the weather opposition and thanked the institutions that contributed to the event.
The event was very well organized and noted that running, the sporting activities are important in terms of guiding the public to use bicycles.
