Channel Istanbul's Road Plan Has Been Determined: The route of Kanal Istanbul, which is called Istanbul's crazy project, has become clear. The crazy project of Istanbul, announced by Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan before the 2009 local elections, the route of Kanal Istanbul and the new settlements and reserve areas to be built on the route became clear. Karacaköy, which was previously identified as Silivri, Ortaköy, İnceğiz, Gökçeli, Çanakça, Dağyenice, was abandoned due to the abundance of lands to be expropriated in the section connected to the Black Sea from the Evcik Dam.
PROJECT WILL BE LISTENED
The channel will be on the Küçükçekmece-Başakşehir-Arnavutköy line. The map of new residential areas was published in the Official Gazette on April 30 under the title of Istanbul Province European Side Project Area map. With the new arrangement, the Reserve Area extends to Karaburun. In this context, studies were initiated based on the maps sent to Arnavutköy Municipality. Kanal Istanbul is being built on 6 thousand 865 hectares, that is, on an area of 68 million 865 thousand square meters. It was calculated that 1 million 120 thousand 280 people will live in the area. Thousands of people will be employed with the project, which will cost 40 billion dollars.
- Details of Kanal Istanbul, where a brand new city will be created with the airport, are as follows:
COST DROP: The most important reason for choosing this route in the project is that 80 percent of the land on the channel axis is public land and there is no forest land. Thus, the cost of the project, especially the expropriation cost, will decrease. The reserve and trade areas in the region and most of the other regions will be implemented with the build-operate-transfer model like the 3rd Airport.
2 NEW CITIES: "Reserve Area 44" will be established on 442 thousand 1 decares of land, starting from Küçükçekmece and passing through Başakşehir. The second city will be established on 280 acres of land in the Arnavutköy region. While the surveys are being initiated, only residential and commercial areas will be established on an area of 29 million 68 thousand square meters.
RISKED DISTRICTS WILL BE MOVED: Districts with high earthquake risk will be moved to the established reserve areas. New cities will be formed in Arnavutköy and Kemerburgaz, especially since Zeytinburnu, Bakırköy, Küçükçekmece, Bağcılar, Esenler, Güngören, Gaziosmanpaşa regions remain as urban transformation areas.
410 PERSONALITY WORK: In the new city about 410 thousand people will be created. 100 bin in airport and advanced technology industry; 50 bin in the university, health, high-tech park; 10 bin in administrative divisions; 100 bin in finance and services; 50 thousand people in tourism, 100 thousand people in general areas, including a total of 410 thousand people will be employed.
THE LAKE WILL COME TO LIFE: The canal will pass through the districts of Istanbul, Küçükçekmece - Başakşehir - Arnavutköy and connect the Black Sea with the Marmara Sea. Küçükçekmece Lake, which has become unusable, will come to life again.
SOLUTION TO DROUGHT: Sazlıdere Dam will be disabled with the project. The Melen Stream project will be focused on to eliminate the water problem of Istanbul. Thus, possible drought in Istanbul will be prevented.
AGRICULTURAL LAND SALES STOPPED
In addition to the 3rd Airport project that Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan will lay the foundations for in June, a new step has been taken regarding the Arnavutköy region, where most of the Canal Istanbul will pass. With a circular sent to the Arnavutköy Land Registry Directorate the previous day, the sales regarding the agricultural areas with shares in the region were stopped. In order to prevent land speculation and control agricultural lands, both villagers and investors will be able to buy and sell only one share of land. Multiple title deed sales were frozen until the project was announced.
THREE MOUNTED TALİH BIRD KONDU
The most important expropriation and expropriation work of Kanal Istanbul, which is 25 meters deep and 150 meters wide, will be carried out in Altıntepe, Güvercintepe and Şahintepe neighborhoods of Başakşehir district between Küçükçekmece Lake and Sazlıdere Dam. Three neighborhoods, all of which are unlicensed and non-zoned houses, will be facades to the canal. Prices have already tripled, quadrupled. The increase in land prices stopped for a while with the 'Reserve Area' measure of the ministry. The lands will be included in the Reserve Area with the expropriation price to be determined.
100 ANNUAL INFRASTRUCTURE PLANS READY
In the World Water Forum last year, scientists said, "Surface waters should be connected to basins and canals. The suggestions that should be given importance to underground waters have been effective in taking Kanal Istanbul on this axis. İSKİ and DSİ and the municipalities will send their 50-100-year plans for the transmission line, tunnel, waste water collectors, treatment facilities and infrastructure and superstructure projects to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization next week. Kanal Istanbul, which will pass right next to the 3rd Airport, will also contribute to the region in terms of tourism.
