Ağrı Youth Services and Sports Provincial Director Şafi Erim said that they will bring Bubi Mountain back to ski tourism.
Şafi Erim, who visited Eleşkirt 100. Yıl Primary School, said that the materials belonging to Eleşkirt Ski Facilities, which have not been used for 8 years and have been looted and ruined by thieves, are 18 kilometers away from Ağrı city center and can be shared with ski lovers in Eleşkirt, Tutak, Hamur, Diyadin and the city center. He said that they will build it on Booby Mountain, which they can reach in half an hour. Şafi Erim, who stated that there is not even one percent chance for Eleşkirt Ski Facilities to provide services at its current location due to many legal problems, said, “In 1980, there was a facility on Bubi Mountain under the conditions of that day. We are planning to reintroduce the abandoned area to ski tourism, as it has not been in demand with the introduction of the tracks working with the modern cable car system in the surrounding provinces. Our Honorable Governor, Dr. Mehmet Tekinaslan is serious about the ski resort issue. In the 2014-2015 ski season, together with our governor, we will start skiing on Bubi Mountain with the ski lovers of Ağrı.”
