4.4 billion dollar Doha subway auction two Turkish giants

The 4.4 billion dollar Doha subway tender was won by the two Turkish giants: YAPI Center and STFA, the biggest line under the Doha Metro of Qatar, the "Gold Line" tender for 4.4 billion construction.

The Gold Line metro line, which Qatar will prepare for the 2022 World Cup, is the largest project among the investments made in preparation for the 2022 World Cup.

With the signing ceremony held in Qatar in April, STFA and Yapı Merkezi signed the tender with the highest price that Turkish contractors have received abroad so far.

Subway, underground stations, railway, stadiums, shopping malls, hotels, highway, bridges, immersed tunnels, reservoirs for investments such as Turkey and many companies from around the world had aspired to work in Qatar. For the Doha Metro tender, which is one of the most important of these, approximately 700 companies showed interest in the subway project, and 290 joint ventures formed by 70 companies from these companies submitted their qualification files.

The employer invited joint ventures to the tenders to be made by reducing the number of Joint Ventures to 32 and then to 18. The construction agreement of the Gold Line line, one of the four branches of Doha Metro, was signed by STFA and Yapı Merkezi. The project, whose construction period is 54 months, is expected to be completed in 2018.

THE RACE AGAINST THE WORLD GIANT

The Gold Line tender offered by Yapı Merkezi and STFA took about 2 years.
