Çavuşoğlu stated that one of the goals of 2023 was "50 million tourists, 50 billion dollars of income" in his statement to the journalists during his visit to the District Governor Cengiz Cantürk. Çavuşoğlu reminded that in 2002, 13 million tourists came to Turkey, stressing that last year only 12 million tourists in Antalya entertained.
Çavuşoğlu stated that tourism regions should be easily accessible and said:
“I hope we will finish the Mediterranean Coastal Road. Studies are continuing quickly. Our works continue by Gazipaşa from Mersin on the one hand and from Antalya on the other. We built a very nice second terminal in Antalya and built a runway. We make all kinds of roads, tunnels, airports for infrastructure, treatments, sewers, and for the evaluation of nature and easy access. There will be a high-speed train tomorrow. There will be high-speed trains from Alanya to Kayseri and Konya, on the other hand, to Istanbul via Burdur. We want to combine the two airports with the high-speed train project. ”
Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that they want the Anamur, Bozyazı, Gazipaşa and Alanya region to come to the forefront in tourism and said, “The airport is very important in this respect. This airport has made it easier for our citizens living in this region to go to Ankara and to Istanbul, including traveling abroad. The fate of this region is the same. In terms of both tourism and agriculture, bananas are produced only in this basin. A large part of the strawberry production in Turkey is provided here. In the future, the Anamur region will become very attractive in tourism. As many tourists come to Antalya, he will come to this region as well. ”
