Projects such as solid waste disposal facility, tram lines, New Fairground, congress center, opera house, Akdeniz Theme Park, which were included in the 2009 election manifesto of Mayor Kocaoğlu, remained only on paper. Although the traffic congestion in the city reached its peak, the Üçyol-Üçkuyular Metro, whose foundation was laid in 2005, has not yet been put into service, which harassed the people of İzmir.
